Treat Warts

Warts are skin growths that are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus. They are of different types and can be found on different places on the body. Warts are unsightly and it is for this reason alone that a lot of people seek treatment for them. Some of them occur in singles, while others in groups. A great number of them tend to be the same color as the surrounding skin, while others can be lighter or darker.
There are different forms of treatment that are available to help in treating and removing warts. Because of the different types of warts, there are different methods of treatment for each.

  • Flat warts- when it comes to these types of warts, the best mode of treatment would be to avoid picking at them. By picking such a wart, you will only provide a chance for it to spread to the rest of the body. You can also apply over the counter medication which contains ingredients that help in drying of the warts. This makes it easier to pull off.
  • Plantar warts- these warts are found on the feet. Wash the feet in a disinfectant with soap and water too. Allow the feet to soak in the disinfectant for a few minutes. Dry them off and take a plaster with salicylic acid and place it over the warts. Make sure it covers the wart completely. Leave this on for two days and make sure it stays dry. Once you remove the plaster, the warts will be white in color. Using soapy water and an old toothbrush, brush the dead skin off from the warts. This treatment can be done twice a week.
  • Common warts- over the counter drugs and treatment are the best option when it comes to treating warts. There are a lot of brand names that are available at chemists that can effectively help in curing warts. Seeing a doctor is most likely the first option most people have. A doctor will be able to determine the best treatment for your warts. Aside from that they can also give you prescription drugs or recommend surgeries if need be. Natural remedies are also an option when it comes to treating warts. Ingredients such as apple cider vinegar and lemon balm oil have been stated to be very effective in getting rid of warts. These remedies need to be used on a regular basis for results to be seen.
