What Are Warts?

Warts are special kinds of skin infections. They usually appear as lesions on the skin of the affected person. They can really look very unsightly when they appear on the skin and they have a way of making the skin look very rough and ugly. If the skin condition is not treated well enough, some scars may be left after the treatment had been completed.  This is why everyone having the skin condition should treat it well enough to remove the scars. Once you are able to get rid of the scars, you should also be able to regain your fresh skin back from Warts.
The causative organism
Warts are caused by a virus and the virus is named human pailloma virus (HPV). This is a rather common virus; as it had been known to be responsible for varying infections in the human aside this particular skin infection. Once it comes in contact with the skin, it has a way of deepening its root into the skin of the affected person and causing some very unhealthy effect on the person. It can also be very challenging to get rid of this virus from the skin and this is one of the reasons why it may be somewhat difficult to get rid of Warts from the skin.
How contagious?
One thing about Warts is that it is highly contagious. If you have any body contact with someone who already has the skin condition, you too can end up getting it. Many of the viral infections that are around are highly contagious. Since this skin condition is also caused by a virus, it is expected that it will be contagious. It is therefore very important for you as an individual to be wary of whom you stand close to so as not to end up catching Warts from the person.
Important consideration
One of the things that you need to take note of as far as Warts are concerned is that, it is not everyone who contacts it that end up with the infection. Some individuals are actually asymptomatic to it. They may however become carriers for the infection.
It is also important to note that Warts can cause cancer. It can appear on any part of the body. When it appears in a place like the genitals, the affected person may end up with cancer. It is therefore important to get it treated before it causes any health problem.
